Reader Question: Best Urinary System Remedy

Hi....I have a 2 year old Goldie that has been spayed. After she was spayed, she started to (infrequently) urinate while she was sleeping (about 1x per month or so).

Could the PetAlive Better-Bladder Control possibly help her if she has Hormone-responsive incontinence.

Thank you.

Urinary Remedy Suggestion from our Veterinarian

Hi Glen,

Some owners do report having luck with remedies like the one you mention. I see no harm in giving it a try. But if it fails to work, talk to your veterinarian about other options. In most of these cases, veterinarians like to run a urinalysis to rule out the possibility of a bladder infection or kidney disease.

If everything looks normal, then the medication phenylpropanolamine (PPA) is usually prescribed. Hormone replacement can also be considered but carries a greater risk of significant side effects in dogs.

Best of luck,

Jennifer Coates, DVM
