How To Treat a Spot on Dog Nose

I have a 1 yr old male great Dane that has a spot on his nose. It's been there for like a week and half. He doesn't have a history, he has been fixed.

Editor Suggestion Treating a Spot on a Dog's Nose

Hi Lorie,

We would suggest monitoring the spot for any changes, such as an increase in size, redness, swelling, or if it appears to be causing discomfort (e.g., your dog scratching at it or showing sensitivity when touched). If any of these signs occur or if the spot remains unchanged for another week, it would be wise to schedule an appointment with your local veterinarian. Your Vet can physically examine the spot, possibly perform some diagnostic tests, and determine whether any treatment is necessary.

Without seeing the spot and knowing more about its characteristics, it's hard to provide more specific advice, but a veterinary professional can give a more accurate assessment in person.

Please keep us up to date on your dog's condition.
