Blood in female dog urine
by: Donna

Don't know if you are still checking comments or not, but... I have had a couple of female dogs that had repeated urinary tract infections. I bought some expensive stuff for it online, and it turned out to be 99% dried cranberry powder. So I started putting 3 or 4 dried cranberries (available in most grocery stores, but you will probably need help finding them) in her food every day, and Viola! no more UTIs! Hope this helps in the long run.

Blood in Dog Urine
by: Anonymous

After my last comment, and I mean right after my last comment, I called the vet and they did not have an available appointment so I immediately called another and they said I could bring her in to be looked at that day.
They told me she most likely had a urinary tract infection and the vet gave me antibiotics to give to my dog every 12 hrs. The vet said the lump likely had nothing to do with the blood in her urine. So far i have been giving her antibiotics every twelve hrs since. About 3 days later i noticed an improvement. As far as I can tell her urine is still kind of dark but there are not any clots and her urine is not bloody red like I saw before. The cost for the visit, urinalysis and antibiotics was about $170.00. I was told to give her the antibiotics until they were gone so that the infection would not come back with immunity or resistance to the antibiotics.
They also said there was a chance it could be kidney stones causing the blood in her urine, but they did not find any crystals in her urine sample so that seemed unlikely.

Please help
by: Elyfamily

My dog Mimi is 3 years old now and she has never had this problem before. I was fixing me something to eat and i look back there was a pool on blood in the middle of the floor. I was scared that she got cut or something else. I rushed her to the vet for a look at and they said that their were other problems with her. There are alot of things that my dog eats around my house but never anything that would make be so sad to take her to the vet. Now she wont eat or drink anything, she just lays on the floor doing nothing. I really need help and the vet said that it would cost $1000 to fix the situation but i have some finacial troubles and i need help so please comment back thank you

blood in dog urine cont.
by: GUY

Today, (the next day), I took a cup with me on her walk to try and collect a sample strange thing though the urine came out with out blood in it. it was darker than normal but not red an bloody like it was yesterday. So then, I was holding a cup of seemingly normal but darker than normal urine so I decided to empty it and throw the cup in a dumpster. I decided to walk her on a longer walk and see if conditions changed as she began to run low on urine as she likes to pretty much mark everything until she runs out and then mark some more. I looked closely at each area she marked and things were going fine but then what seemed to be a clot appeared and her urine turned reddish (clouded with blood) in subsequent markings. I will take a few cups on the next walk and collect samples after her initial urination.

blood in dog Urine

Hi, I have a dog (Chesapeake Bay Mix)she is female and 12 years old. She was fixed many years ago. She has Cancer and there are tumors all over her body. Recently within the last 6 months she had what appeared to be tumor developing on her right paw side of her abdomen right next to her thigh. I have asked many Vets about her Tumors but they all say the same thing that she is old and putting her through surgery at this point in her life would not only more than likely fail to stop her cancer but would cause her a lot of discomfort they say that if the cancer starts to cause her serious amounts of discomfort then and only then would they consider surgery. I did lot of research on the subject an looked through a non biased lens and came to the same conclusion that that was the best course of action for my dog. But then something strange just happened.

In the last few days what I and veterinarians thought was tumor in her abdomen increased in size and then on a walk today I noticed she had blood in her urine, a lot of it, it was deep red and came out looking like blood with clots in it. Her urination was normal otherwise, energy levels normal and appetite fine as well. But a strange thing seems to have happened when I got home, I went to clean her off and realize that what I thought was tumor in her abdomen area was gone. Is this typical with Kidney Stones or infections? Is this typical with Dogs that have cancer?
